stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted January 11, 2008 We locked up Dats last year and with the mid way point almost here, how much longer do you all think it will be until a new deal is announced for Z, especially now off of the AO announcement? My guess would be that it will be done by mid Feb. and that it will be similar to Dats deal, 6-8 years at about 6-7 mil a year... in my mind, the longer the better with Z, lock him up... Matt 1,049 Report post Posted January 11, 2008 The absolute earliest Zetterberg can be officially re-signed is July 1st, 2008. Players that have signed multi-year deals can sign extensions at any point in the final season of the current deal (read: post-July 1st, 2008 if your deal expires on June 30th, 2009)... Players that have signed ONE-year deals cannot negotiate a new contract until after January 1st of the current season. This should end the Zetterberg extension talk. LOCKED.
