Guest Crymson Report post Posted February 19, 2008 TSN Power Rankings I have no problem with the power rankings, they are probably correct. I do have a problem with TSN's choice of words. "Class" and "Ducks" don't belong in the same sentence, unless the sentence is "The Anaheim Ducks have no class." I think the phrase "class of the league" is reserved for the team that plays hockey within the rules the best. Not the team that cheapshots and gets enough bad calls until they win. Also, the "class of the league" doesn't need two players to return to the team after half a season to be considered the "class of the league" or even be considered play-off contenders, they are the best no matter what players are or are not on the roster. Especially if they are clearly better on paper. More venting to follow if the Ducks don't make the post. Yeah, the Ducks also managed to make this on the tails of exploiting two enormous loopholes. Thanks, Bettman.
Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted February 20, 2008 (edited) I don't see why any of you go to ESPN for anything. My personal thoughts (and actions) are that ESPN has done nothing to help the NHL, and has done it's best to downplay it. Therefore, I don't visit their site at all (for hockey or any sport) other than for the random posting on a board, like this site. It's not really a boycott, but I certainly don't feel like giving them any advertising money from my actions. I also don't watch them at home, but with me not currently owning a TV, that isn't much of a statement. Edit Addition: Also, several years back I subscribed to their online site. It was a quick online form. I decided I didn't want it, but the only way to cancel the subscription was to CALL them during limited hours. I sort of think of that tactic as something a scam artist uses, not a major company owned by an even bigger well known corp.
