Guest Hank=FutureCaptain Report post Posted March 15, 2008 Simon is a complete dumbass. But you have to agree with him here. No way should Pronger get away with stomping on another player. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Should be pretty cut and dry. You stomp on a player, you're f*cked. Bottom line.
Spinner 6 Report post Posted March 15, 2008 Simon is a complete dumbass. But you have to agree with him here. No way should Pronger get away with stomping on another player. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Should be pretty cut and dry. You stomp on a player, you're f*cked. Bottom line. I quite agree with you. But the real dumbasses are the ones who won't review the play and suspend chris Buttpronger. this pretty much shows him that he has a free pass to do whatever he wants without consequence. Kira 451 Report post Posted March 15, 2008 I saw this new video for the first time last night. It's blatantly obvious that he did it intentionally. Though I am not a Chris Simon fan by any stretch of the imagination, he does make a good point. And he is right to be a little indignant about it. Pronger should get the same treatment. The infraction was almost the same, so why should the punishment not be?
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted March 15, 2008 (edited) I think Simon is just echoing the majority of opinions of fans of the hypocrisy that might be coming, nothing more or less. I highly doubt there is any indications from him to say, "Woe is me, feel sorry for me because I got 30 games." I think, hopefully at least, Simon realizes what he did was wrong and he's in the process of moving on from it. I'll say again from my viewpoint that I just want fair justice, nothing more or less. I don't intentionally want somebody to go out and injure Pronger (although he's going to eventually get what is coming to him if he keeps some of his antics up), I don't want him thrown off a cliff, or anything like that even though this latest incident has finally caused me to lose a good bit of respect for his questionable stuff (have usually been willing somewhat to give him benefit of the doubt when it comes to his play or the disliking of him in here). Just fair justice. And it seems pretty obvious the Pronger/Simon incidents are similar in nature. So if Pronger doesn't get suspended for a fair chunk of games, I will be very disappointed in the higher ups in the league, not just because its OMG CHRIS PRONGER. Anything less than 10 games, and I think that is generous to an extent, will be a disappointment. I hope I am completely wrong of the potential hypocrisy in this situation. interminded 1 Report post Posted March 15, 2008 Simon has a point, absolutely.
Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted March 15, 2008 Simon should give him the old two-hander across the helmet and see if he gets suspended for it. He could claim racism for his punishment and that he felt prejudice for the way he was treated and struck a blow against the personification of his plight. Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted March 16, 2008 I really don't get how anyone can make Simon right, but the NHL sure did. Simon should sue the league for that money back they took. This bulls*** that its different because he was trying to get loose is crazy. He was trying to get loose, got pissed that he was being held and stomped on him with a damn blade. It was a dumb jerk letting his emotions get the best of him, punish him fairly. This pisses me off so bad, and yet this suspension does nothing but helps the Ducks get ready to win another cup. Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted March 16, 2008 I really don't get how anyone can make Simon right, but the NHL sure did. That is the best line I have seen here in months. Very witty and spot on! Says it all. Close the thread mods, the Major summed it all up! :-)
rage 24 Report post Posted March 16, 2008 Total double-standard. I like MacLeods' take on it. http://redwingscorner.blogspot.com/ Colin Campbell is a joke. It's like high school vacation....I mean suspension. Pronger, Burke, and the Ducks will be rested up and ready for the playoffs now. It's not as if Neids and Selanne needed anymore rest........aaahahhaha!
