Babcock Breaks NHL Record

Recommended Posts

Babcock is the only one has done it in his first 3 season.

yeah it is an awesome accomplishment for him, and for Red Wings organization. It takes a huge commitment and drive to perform everyday. I could almost say they are my inspiration

yeah babsy!!

it was so cute, at the end of the game instead of having the 'chevy player of the game' like they usually do, fsn had the 'chevy coach of the game', and it went to him.

also, aaron downey looked really really freakin psyched about giving him that puck. it warmed the very cockles of my heart.

:D

He coached 2 seasons with Anaheim before coming over to the Wings. So what record did he break?

That 2006 season just stands out like a sore thumb. I remember going into the playoffs that year thinking that no one could beat this team 4 times out of 7 games. That's why I'm not drooling over this team finishing 1st this year. The win consistency has been special, though, since that's not something you see anymore in sports.

No kidding on the 2006 season, and playoff fizzle. I was pretty shocked how everything good went to s*** so fast!

That happens in sports, though. Nothing can be taken for granted. I think 2006 will forever be a real sore spot in Red Wings fan's memories. To me, at least, that year is just a dark spot. However, I feel this years team is playoff-ready and built for the long haul, and I don't think we could say that about very many of the last few seasons' teams. I'm really excited to see how the Wings have matured since they introduced themselves to the league as the "Newer, Tougher Wings" last season.

The record where you are the only coach to have only 50+ seasons with your team

Yeah! Just take Michigan and Appalachian State! Ahahahaha.
