MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 I foresee a huge logjam at 93 or 94 points at the end of the season. It's going to come down to tiebreakers.

Inultus 12 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 With one point tonight we can clinch the President's trophy on wins. Not saying the President's Trophy means much one way or the other but I will say this: I'm sick of people saying that a President's Trophy win means an early playoff exit. The last time we won the Cup we also won the Prez's Trophy. So, whatever, there's a great chance we'll win it this year and it doesn't mean diddly to me in reference to the playoffs. I'm superstitious, but not to the point where I don't want the Presidents trophy. I don't care what any traditions or stats say, every team has a chance tow in the cup, as long as they make playoffs. It's a whole new season in which hot teams start cold and cold teams get hot.
Opie 308 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 Do any of you remember in the beginning of the season when both the Wings and Sens were tearing the league apart I think it was Keith Jones, maybe Engblom, but one of them said during an intermission that the Sens had a better chance of playing the whole season at that level of play than the wings did because the Wings didn't have the depth and scoring prowess that the Sens had. HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE what a fool!!

I'd rather see Philly out than Ottawa, just because Philly will likely play so dirty in the post-season. On a side note, I feel bad for you, being a Toronto fan and all. Talk about bad management... Tucker, Raycroft & Mark Bell will likely be either bought out or demoted. Pavel Kubina has a trade window of two months from the Entry Draft until mid-August and there's word that McCabe will ask for a trade to a New York-area team. Going to be an interesting summer. So, whatever, there's a great chance we'll win it this year and it doesn't mean diddly to me in reference to the playoffs. only 6 of the 21 President's Trophy winners have won the cup. Detroit has taken it 5 times (not including this season) winning the cup only once. There's only been two first round exists though for the President's Trophy winner. St.Louis in 2000 and Detroit in 2006. Cool trivia: Detroit is the only team to win the Trophy more than twice. Montreal has not won the Trophy Detroit is second to Montreal with 17 first-overall finishes. Montreal has 21. Edit: The only two awards that a Detroit player/team hasn't one are The Rocket Richard Trophy and the Roger Crozier Saving Grace Award Edited April 2, 2008 by vangvace
