first of all i am no fan of jason spezza. i was merely pointing out just how insanely frustrated that team has become and i was using spezza fighting as an example because the guy never fights. daniel alfredsson isnt a bad captain because he is a euro but instead because he is way too quiet. sure you could say he leads by example but right now during this tremendous slump he isnt carrying this team. rob ray a former ottawa senator told tsn last week that alfredsson lacks leadership in the room and that there isnt anyone there who will speak up. the team is a mess right now because of the emery situation among other internal problems and this would be the perfect time for a leader to take control in that room because bryan murray sure as hell isnt doing it. nick is a fairly quiet leader but he leads by example and we have the luxury of having other veterans (kris draper, chelly, i could go on but we all know who i mean) who will smack someone upside the head. alfredsson just doesnt have what it takes to wear the C.

I don't think it should totally be blamed on Alfredsson, but he's the one wearing the "C" so a large bulk of it has to fall at his feet.

I agree with everything you said. Especially about Alfredsson. He has to step up in every way if this team wants chance to get into the playoffs.
