#19=Legend 29 Report post Posted April 4, 2008 Most of them think we will win the Conference Final. Only to get beat by a team out of the east.
Cicada 4 Report post Posted April 4, 2008 no way... if we get to the final, no way are we losing to the Least
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 The East isn't that bad. Pittsburgh and Montreal are both legitimate teams, and one will probably end up out of their conference into the SCF. And you never know what Washington could pull off if they make it. The majority of the teams, yes, do suck, but there is still some talent over there. Vincanni 1 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 I actually have a slight fear of Pittsburgh coming out of the East better than ever with Crosby rejoining the fray, though I would personally love nothing more than a Montreal/Detroit finals. I also feel we would win such a match up barring catastrophic injury.
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 Most of them think we will win the Conference Final. Only to get beat by a team out of the east. That's what I don't understand. The biggest threats are in the West. If we win the Conference Finals, how don't we destroy the Eastern team? I take solace that at least the poll numbers were close. The gap between the two conferences has never been bigger. This is my take on the top 15 teams in the league. Of course, my opinion is not gospel but this my honest ranking of teams in terms of their Cup chances based solely on their ability (disregarding standings). Detroit San Jose Anaheim Pittsburgh Dallas New Jersey Colorado Minnesota Calgary Montreal New York Rangers Nashville Chicago Vancouver Ottawa Three of the top 10 teams in the league are in the East. That's pretty pathetic. The bottom three are pretty close and could easily be changed around.
Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 I think Montreal and Pittsburgh are really overrated. Especially Habs, they think Price is new Roy or something. Rangers are the best team in the East imho.
RedLightGoesOn 81 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 (edited) Boston could beat the Habs you know (LOL). Pitt is definitely a team a lot of people are thinking will go places this year. I wouldnt want to count out the Rangers either, as they can play some hockey too. The thing is when it comes to young teams or teams that have been out of the playoff picture for a while, you can't really gauge past playoff series and the changes this year that might turn the tides for one team. I think that we are going to be in for a pleasant treat this year for East playoff hockey, as some good series are going to played.
