HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 Yes, it came through loud and clear! I was glad to see this cheer revived. One of my favorite JLA crowd moments was in the last minute of regulation of game 7 against St. Louis in 1996. The Wings had an offensive zone faceoff and the crowd got this chant going. I rewatched this game a year ago (on the A Celebration of Champions dvd) and this moment still gave me chills, even though I knew the game went on for another two periods. Very cool. And very intimidating for the other team for sure. HockeyCrazy3033--are you going to game 2? If so, you should help revive something else I miss at the Joe: rhythmic clapping! Yess I am going to tomorrow's game. SOO excited! I'll do my best!

Seraph 240 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 Fellow fans, I just wanted to comment that the second goal of the game was just so damn GOOOD. I hear they're reformatting the alphabet so D goes to Z after that play. It just felt SOOO good to see that. This is the best time of year.
dallas27 7 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 Sure seemed more than 20 shots against tonight. Pretty entertaining game. I love the people that are like, "Well, it WAS tipped.............BUT IT'S STILL A WEAK GOAL!" Having played goaltender the tipped shot, particularly when a. you can't see the shot, and b. you can't see the person tipping the shot, is THE hardest save a goalkeeper can attempt. In that situation the Dom can only hope the puck hits him, and it didn't. The way he fell back reminded me of the '97 playoffs Game 3 against Ottawa, I was thinking we might have a knee sprain on our hands. Time to go root for the Stars/Flames. Having played goal for a very long time, including some high level hockey, the first thing they teach you is to keep your stick in front of you. And that a five-hole goal is the goalies fault. There is never an excuse for a five-hole goal.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 My only real complaint from the Wings was more noteably one guy: Brian Rafalski. Those were just some downright terrible giveaways he made in the third period. There was a sequence were he made a couple in a row on the same shift; not good. But, I guess everyone has their off night's. Chelios didn't look great either. Now, for the positives. Zetterberg rules. What an absolutley fantastic game he played last night. He's clutch, and he'll be a real important factor for the Wings for the rest of the series. Great game by Stuart. He looked like he didn't miss a beat. Solid defensivily, and had a couple of decent shots that almost became scoring chances. Very good return for him. Hasek played good, even though he didn't see many shots. Tootoo's goal was very lucky, as it hit about 2-3 different players skate, and just barely deflected game. Kronwall is awesome. I love hits like that. High with the elbow or not, it was still a great hit. Lidstrom continues to dominate defensivily in all aspects of the game. Give that man his 6th Norris Trophy, because nobody else even comes close. McCarty played great in the few minutes he got. He was solid, didn't make any bad mistakes, and got in Tootoo's face. Great work by him last night. ...and while they may not be a player on the ice, I have to say: excellent game by the fans last night. Yes, there were empty seats, but who cares. The game was a sellout, and it was also LOUD. I really hope this continues, so it shuts all these media idiot's up. They need to finally understand that nothing beats the playoff atmosphere of Hockeytown. Overall, a great game last night. Really looking forward to Game 2 on Saturday. Let's Go Red Wings!!!!!!!!!! Let's Go Red Wings!!!!!!!!!! well said my friend. I agree with you about Ralf, he had an off night, but man that guy is gonna fly post to post and rack up some points from the blueline. Our team is going to explode, the game last night was just amazing. Although I live in CA,I have center ice so I have been able to watch almost every wings game this year (besides the ones on NHL network). I gotta say, last night was one of the best games they played all season, their 2way hockey is just great. Watching Z and Dats out there together makes my week. Im on the edge of my seat everytime they hop the boards. Love it, love it, love it.
