Being that I live in the Ducks TV market, I am listening to their announcers in this game. I am practically doing cart wheels through my living room. I love it! I called in another thread. (Stars in 6)

Assuming we advance past the first round, I'm ok with SJ taking out Calgary. I don't think I want to play the Flames again, especially if they take out the Sharks. Kipper makes me nervous. If Colorado can beat Minnesota, I'd rather the Sharks play Anaheim/Dallas, and we take on Thoedore.

I thought the Stars/Ducks series was a toss up and i thought it would be close games but 4-0. Stars are hungry and the ducks haven won last year might not want it as bad. I guess if you lose 2-1 or 10-0 doesnt matter in the playoffs in the end its only 1 game.

the cup was gift wrapped to them last year look who they played wild/vancuver they had an easy time with them then the wings come along and they were the only challenge, the sens obviously weren't tough enough but still to play for the stanley cup you have to earn and be challenged every round not just one. the ducks weren't had it made for them i hope every game is like this for them.

I don't see Ribeiro having a lot of luck against the big Ducks D-men. I mean, I hate the Ducks, and I don't like Ribeiro, but I can't see him being a huge factor. If the Stars wanna have a chance to win this series, they gotta play them real defensively (like the Nucks last year) and just chip in the odd goal here and there. Turco needs to be huge. Lots of 2-1 games.

Wow! Pretty much everything I predicted in that post was completely wrong! ahaha

Boy are my cheeks red.

:hehe:

I agree, Ducks were fortunate against us in the playoffs last year, i feel we more lost to ourselves with errors coming at the worst possible moments.

I feel the exact same way, man.

I was discussing it with my buddy a few days ago. I don't really wanna have to play against the Flames if they can upset everyone's Cup favourites. They're the kind of team that can turn into a rolling stone if they can grab some momentum.

Honestly, I'd take Dallas or Colorado preferably defore the post-Shark Flames.

Luckily, the Sharks'll porbly take this one, and then do what they do on the road and take care of business.

Kiprusoff is amazing. The guy just buckles down and becomes a wall at the most critical times. He's getting almost no support at all tonight, but he's kept his team in it with heroic goaltending.

I said from the beginning that Dallas creates bizarre problems for Anaheim. I don't think they can sustain this for the length of the series, at least without Zubov, but they're going to make it very hard on Anaheim if nothing else. I don't really understand why the Stars match up so well with the Ducks. The Stars aren't the same kind of bruising team, but the more physical the Ducks get, the more it seems to play into Dallas' hands.

Yep to anyone especially critics to say that the Ducks deserved it are just on their knees for the Ducks orGOONization Red Wings had to SURVIVE through the flames and sharks THEN the ducks?! thats the path to what should have been a well deserved stanley cup, this year better be our year.

Sucks that ND won, but they obviously were playing better in OT. Doesn't help that Michigan had to pull Sauer in the 1st either.

I don't know that missing Zubov creates that many problems for Dallas in this series. Anaheim can't score now, so Zubov's defensive liabilities outweigh his offensive assets here. If Dallas scores 2-3 per game and Turco plays well, Anaheim is in trouble. No shootouts here.

I CANT BELIEVE that Notre Dame won. I was all about keeping it in the CCHA...but I secretly meant Michigan, not the Irish. Eugh.

Anyway, I'm glad Dallas is sticking it to the Ducks!
