So as a great night of hockey ends I have to declare my favorite play of the day. The honor belongs to none other than Scott Hartnell:

Upon realizing his Flyers were being badly outplayed, on their heels and with their back against the wall in the 1st period, pretended the puck hurt him. He immediately clutched his undamaged face and crumpled to the ice to try and buy a stoppage. After a few seconds of babying his chimerical injury, he realized the refs weren't going to stop the play and he resumed skating completely unphased as if nothing happened. The Flyers would eventually ice the puck.

Just got back from the Rags/Devils game. My impressions:

If either of these teams make it to the cup finals they will be swept by the West.

The Rock is very nice. OK food. Souvenirs stands weren't the greatest. Surrounding area looks bad, but alot of the abandoned buildings have coming soon signs.

New Jersey either has nobody that can make a good pass or receive a good pass. I'm not sure which one it is but they were downright awful at passing all night.

Shanny is hilarious talking crap on the ice. Told him thanks for the Detroit years when he signed my Tigers hat after the game. Gave me a weird and not so friendly look. Good guy signed stuff for the longest of the Rags.

I will never go to a rags/devils game again. Too much stupidity. At least ten fans that I could see were escorted or helped out by security.

I am so glad we got rid of Avery. Causes way too many problems.

Lost a bit of respect for Drury. He didn't do anything bad really except get a shocked look on his face when somebody hit him. Complained about it too.

Gomez is the Devils Fedorov.

I was behind and to the left of Broduer. He might have had a chance on Avery's goal but... his team isn't doing him any favors.

Gotta love Brodeur getting the "MARTY" chants in his own building

Half the crowd tonight were Ranger fans and they kept drowning out the Devils fans. Disappointed in the razzing that was going back and forth. It either got ugly fast (security was busy) or it boiled down to 3 cups since '95 vs 4 cups since '26. Squashed that one with "put them together and your still behind Detroit" For some reason they stopped talking to me after that.

New Jersey is just another arena for Rags fans..

Very much so. But don't forget Philly, The Isles, Boston, Washington, ah hell the away team's fans normally account for at least a third of the arena attendance. I kinda feel sorry for them, but hopefully moving to Newark will help with that. I shouldn't have been able to buy tickets three days before a game four rows off the glass straight from ticketmaster. Just doesn't seem right.

Honestly, I can't believe the officiating in the last minute of that game. They literally stuffed every call up and they all went the Rangers way. The Devils should be filthy. The refs put every possible hurdle in the way of them tying the game.

Parise and Madden was livid and was still raising hell at the refs for a few minutes after the game. The devils coach broke a stick against the boards because he was pissed. Good reffing until the final 2 minutes or so.

If I remember tomorrow I'll post some pics.

Rangers won..great :) I am happy for Jagr.

Malkin outplayed Crosby..again. Maybe it is because Sid is not 100% after his injury, but Malkin is better player atm.

Ovechkin's celebration after scoring gwg was priceless

Wild-Avs was great game!

Playoffs are awesome so far!

So I guess the Philly player was not hit in the chest like I thought, he took the puck directly in the testicles. I guess it was so bad that they may have to remove a ********.

Well, I guess it's true what they say. To play hockey, it really takes balls.
