NHLrules? 32 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 Upon watching the first week of the playoffs I have to say the officiating has been awful. Hulk Hogan and Rowdy Piper would be gods in this league if every game was officiated like the ones I have watched. This year clutching and holding has been worse than ever. Even worse, blatant penalties happening right in front of the officials are missed and phantom calls are the norm. The consistency has been atrocious as well. Ahhh its definately playoff time, I LOVE IT!!!!
miller76 463 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 I really haven't seen much difference between the regular season and the playoffs. I haven't been overly ticked off yet with the officiating in wings/preds series. Seems as if they of kind of let them play thus far. I would hate to jinx anything. Real1 2 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 I cannot agree more. I hate going against the wings, but that was a goal for sure in game two. They are not calling the simple calls either. there have been multiple hooks, holds, ect., that have been called against the wings, but not for them. Yeah, It's playoff time..... NHLrules? 32 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 not just in our series but in the playoffs as a whole. Watch a ducks game. And the cheap shots being missed, ohhhh the cheap shots lol.

I have been watching most playoff games. Like I said before, nothing has seemed to change between the reg. season and the playoffs. I think there is a general consesus on here and in the hockey world that the officiating is crap, and changes need to be made. But do I expect anything anytime soon? Nope, I don't. WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 All I know is whoever was officiating Games 1 & 2 of our series should definitely NOT officiate in the Finals. I can understand missing the offsides goal, but the 1st Radulov goal in Game 2 should have definitely been reviewed. Of course, as long as the calls are in Detroit's favor, I can deal with the zebra's a little easier.
Opie 308 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 The MON/BOS series is not much better guys, Montreal (Kovalev especially) are embellishing every little stick tap on the shin pads, any contact from a stick no matter how strong or weak of contact they are going down like a ton of bricks and getting the calls. After the 2nd period of game three Julien must have told the B's to do the same. This series has more diving in it than Greg Louganis' career! Yet I think if someone two handed a guy across the face they would not see it. I saw a Bruin(savard I beliece) get spun 360 from a hook, a legit hook and pull, with a ref with 15 feet of him, no call. Minutes later Kovalev barely gets tapped on the shin with the heel of a stick (Krejci's I believe), he spins, falls, arms flailing, the puck goes flying and 2 minutes for the B, that one was in OT of the 2nd game and led to the game winner, by Kovalev, captain diver himself!!! Surprising then that Nashville has more penalties in the series if the Wings are being called, but Nashville isn't.
