egroen 384 Report post Posted April 16, 2008 Would it ever be possible to see Flip and Hudler *both* on a hot streak at the same time? I swear, if one is hot then the other is guaranteed to be cold.
2probert4 8 Report post Posted April 16, 2008 Him and Cleary have both been nonexistent, but we've scored enough goals in this series to not complain about scoring. We scored 3 the last game, and that should be enough to win each night in the playoffs where scoring usually goes down. Cleary had a couple of assists the last game??? He's doing what hes supposed to do.

stormboy 47 Report post Posted April 16, 2008 i can't remember how many times this series i've said "oh, val, so close!" it seems like he's always ALMOST about to make the great play. he gets past two guys and then barely can't outscate the third one. the puck JUST bounces off his stick, JUST misses the net, JUST gets deflected on the way to datsyuk with a wide open net. it's frustrating. i'm really hoping he can break out soon. it's good to see hudler getting a little something going. val's got the tools. i agree with those who think that it's more of a mental thing, an issue of confidence. i've seen him make enough great place, and almost make many more, to know that he can get to that next level. whether he will or not is a big question mark. but i think it's guys like him that can tip the series in our favor. flipper gets a goal or two, starts heating up, then they can't only focus on hank and pavel. val doesn't need to a point-per-game player all the time, but he has to make the other team think he can be. c'mon val, make us proud! go wings! DeuxEx 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2008 He definetely looks like he is lacking confidence right now. He needs to drive to the net and shoot more, he has had some success doing that this year.
sverige 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2008 I love Filppula but he's definitely been a disappointment. I named his as one of the darkhorse Wings that would be phenomenal come playoff time. He stopped doing what made him good last playoffs and during his hot streak. I distinctly remember him utterly embarrassing Niedermayer multiple times last year out of sheer determination. He doesn't win the puck battles anymore. He just doesn't seem like he wants it as much. Use your speed and drive to the net Fil!
