Hank Dats 'N Homer 81 Report post Posted April 16, 2008 man now this is a good series. if anyone else has been watching the Philly/Caps series, its been pretty exciting. I have been pulling for Philly ever since the start of the season. After their aquisitions i said to myself " Damn this team looks tough on paper" I even started a topic on here a while back before the season started talking about how they looked good. I didnt think they were going to make it to the finals or anything, but i knew they would make hte playoffs. anyways, ive been watching them alot this season and their playoff series has been pretty exciting. Briere looks as good now as he did in buffalo. Hes putting up a great effort. Hes got 2 goals tonight and had 2 in the first game of the series too. Im glad to see Philly's arena packed and LOUD. I wish i could see a wings game with that kind of crowd. But damn has anyone else been watching this series? I mean i dont think they are going to win the cup or anything but they are looking and playng better than i thought they would. They were the dirtiest team during the season and their VP is one of the true asshats of the NHL. And since MacKenzie over at TSN thinks they are the "ultimate team" they are poised for a fall at the hands of Ovechkin and the Caps. Hopefully, they lose the next 3 games. I've been pullin for Washington though... just cause everyone loves the cinderella story I think, I gotta say Ovechkin has been a non-factor the past 2 games... Im not a huge Ovechkin fan, i mean i respect what he has done for that team and the NHL, and hes a great player. I like him im just not in love with him. and hes really the only guy on that team with alot of talent. I mean you got guys like semin and green but if AO wasnt there, the caps wouldnt make the playoffs for the next 20 years. I just dnt think they have waht it takes to beat Philly, and like i said, Philly has really grown on me this past year, regardless of how classless their fans are...i consider myself a philly fan, but im a wings fan FIRST which means i might have a little to much class to be a full out philly fan haha Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted April 16, 2008 I get a kick out of there fans actually. Like the one guy yesterday yelling at Mike Green for over a minute, I find that funny. The series has been great, I hope the Flyers win the next one at home and finish them off in game 5. BTW, poor Fedorov, actually. This guy used to be the most dynamic player in the league, and now he's not fast enough to catch Mike Knuble. Thats the one thing I notice about him, how slow he is. Statiklullaby87 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2008 Yeah I dont think Wsh. is gunna win this series, Philly has them completley figured out, the Washington forwards cant get good shooting opportunities, only low percentage perimiter shots, If the caps want to win AO has to influence it in some way, If Philly shuts him down(like they are doing now) the caps are done... He could be on any team he wanted if he entered free agency. There aren't many other players (that aren't already Wings) in the league I would tie to my team for that much money for that long except him and maybe Nash or Malkin. I couldn't imagine what he would do on a line with Pav and Z. I'd love to see Pitt and Washington go at it and face one of them for the cup. I like a lot of Phillys players but collectively they can disgust me. I can't say they suck but I have a hard time watching them play if I don't like the team they're playing. Go Caps!
