ellis has looked shakey all series. I don't know why some people think he's a solid goalie. He gives up way too many rebounds and I think it's luck that he's not down 3-0 right now.

3-0? I count it closer to 5-0 if we could bury the damn puck when we have the chance. It'd be 3-0 on practically open-netters alone.

KICK ASS, RED WINGS!

Wings need to get in front of the net to take advantage of the rebounds. That could be part of the "luck" he's experiencing.

Maybe this is their attempt to slow the game down, as people have been suggesting lately. Don't let the Preds get any momentum. I don't like that trend of laying back after one goal or one goal lead... but at least the D showed up and the offense is (or was) going to the net.

Perhaps consistency isn't just a problem for one player, maybe it's all of them... let's see what they do in the 2nd before we draw conclusions. What do you think?

I honestly would have to agree with you here. I hope Babs is getting on them for slowing down a little, unless that is their intent. I just worry that they'll fall back and play too defensive like in game 3 and get burned. All it takes is one goal by the Preds to think they can win in Detroit. Right now they still dont' look like they're that confident that they can win a road playoff game. Don't give em a SNIFF!

You're right. I just hope it doesn't come back to bite the Wings in the ass later.

According to Ron McLean on CBC, the dissallowing of the swinging of the octupus is for "safety reasons". Bulls***.

LOL.. we'll figure something out. I feel bad for the poor guy though. He was doing it for us and he get's in s***. They should just fine us all then. Because we LOVE it. Damn.

agreed. I am not worried about them reverting to the behavior we saw the last two games. They look like a different team tonight, except for all the "almost, " "so close!" and missed net opportunities. THAT looks all too familiar. And maddening.

Maybe on the back of each ticket where they have the warning about pucks leaving the playing surface etc they should add "beware of flying octopus". :D
