GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Does anyone know offhand what the Wings streak is currently after today's win as far as closing out a series. From what I can remember, the last time we lost a game with a chance to eliminate someone was in 1998 against Dallas, when Langenbrunner scored on Ozzie. I just don't remember what the exact number is. I guess we only need 3 wins to win a series, while everyone else needs 4.

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Eleven. I just counted on my own, and it came out to 12 straight. We lost to Dallas in game 5, but we came back and elminated them in game 6, which is when the streak started. I might be wrong, though. Where's Eva when I need him? It was our second crack at it. We've finished 11 series on the first opportunity.
06TJSport 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 its how many times in a row the wings have won when already having 3 wins, which would include game

Either way you look at it, that's very impressive, because in sports the saying is that the hardest one to win is the last one. I guess the hardest for the Wings to win always seems to be the 3rd one.

Regardless, as you said 11-0 over ten years for series winning games is an outstanding record.
