Duck Guy 86 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 (edited) (5) @ (2) TIME: 10PM (East coast time) on VS --After splitting their eight regular season meetings with three road victories apiece, the clubs are riding waves of confidence from their first-round victories. Second-seeded San Jose held off the Calgary Flames in a taxing seven-game series, while the fifth-seeded Stars got out of their one-round-and-done playoff rut by eliminating the defending Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks. San Jose and Dallas haven't met in the postseason since 2000, when the Stars knocked the Sharks out of the second round on the way to their second straight appearance in the Stanley Cup finals. Yet they know plenty about each other. (5) @ (2) TIME: 7PM (East coast time) on VS --"This is going to be a great seven-game series," said Penguins defenseman Ryan Whitney, who seems certain it will take that long to decide a winner. The Penguins are coming off a first-round sweep of Ottawa and, with the 20-year-old Crosby and the 21-year-old Malkin, might own the best center combination on a Stanley Cup challenger since the Oilers' days with Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier. They also might be the NHL's best tandem since, well, Mario Lemieux and Jagr in Pittsburgh, with Crosby winning the scoring title last season and Malkin coming in second to Alex Ovechkin this season. VS NOTES::: In the event tonight’s New York Rangers vs. Pittsburgh Penguins game extends beyond the scheduled 10 p.m. ET starting time of the Dallas Stars vs. San Jose Sharks game, VERSUS will adjust its exclusive coverage of the Stanley Cup Conference Semifinals. Scenario – Rangers vs. Penguins Game Extends Beyond 10 p.m. ET Cable viewers in the Dallas and San Jose markets will automatically be switched to the beginning of Dallas Stars vs. San Jose Sharks Game 1 semifinal. Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 I'll be in for the late game. The Pens-Rangers series is kinda tough to call. I expect the Pens to win, but it's a battle of two teams that I'm not sure of how good they are. Even though both teams swore it wouldn't be, I hope the Stars-Sharks series is a 7-game version of the goonfest that was there last regular season matchup. Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 Pittsburgh fans going for the "whiteout". Looks good Really? you think so? I was just coming on here to say that I thought it looked dumb. Their jerseys are black and yellow/gold. The white makes it look like everyone is cheering for the Rangers. Sea of Red works and so did white back when home jerseys were the lighter ones, but I think this just looks confused. If anything, I would have gone with Yellow t-shirts, the colour of M A Fleury's old pads.
Never_Retire_Steve 35 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 I agree, the Pens didn't think that one through with the white

To be honest, I did'nt put as much thought into it as you did lol I just turned it on and saw everyone in white and thought, thats cool. Maybe i'm just over the red after watching every game from the Caps, Flames & Flyers (orange) series and wanted something different.
