HenryMalredo 2 Report post Posted May 13, 2008 I never thought good old Todd McLellan would be willing to leave us and go coach ONE OF OUR BIGGEST RIVAL TEAMS. This is 2008 not 1997.
Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted May 13, 2008 My sources tell me that Steve Yzerman is the frontrunner right now for this job. Darren McCarty is also rumored to be contemplating retirement, to join their staff as Yzerman's assistant. Claude "Turtle" Lemieux will be 2nd assistant coach. e6

tiff_luvs_homer 5 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 WHEN WILL YOU ALL REALIZE THE RIVALRY NO LONGER EXISTS! There is a rivalry but I think it's just between the fans now more than anything.... people want to make it out to be something that it no longer is. IMO... As far as McLellan being a coach to the avs I say more power to him. With a good coach like Babcock behind the bench it's the only way he'll ever truly have a chance at head coach... I know the wings fans might not like the idea of him coming to the avs but I think the avs can use the coaching talent right now. He's not being a traitor, he's just trying to better himself and his career, imo.
