The Noodle 39 14 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 Because we all have an opinion and this is the place to talk about it?!?!? I can't believe most of you haven't thought about all the time and cash we have wasted spinning the wheel of goalies over the years when we should have kept Ozzie the whole time. Given the way he's playing I think it's pretty relevant. Don't h8 the thread, just read if you don't like it, and don't be such a freaking git. Things happen for a reason. That Osgood and this one we have now are two completely different goalies. Would Ozzie have become what he is now without trials and tribulations along the road? interminded 1 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 In a perfect world: (assuming Hasek retires) Sign Kolzig as a FA Huet re-signs with Caps Trade Kolzig for Huet Huet backs up Osgood Oh yeah... Huet would be thrilled with a scenario like this !!
sjradio 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 Why was it that when I saw the title of this thread I was reminded about those old TV commercials with that wierd fitness chick. Susan Powter (or Powder) "STOP THE INSANITY"
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 Just a FYI, Ozzie's departure from the Wings is looking like it was the best thing for him to find the need to change his game and turn him into the machine he is playing like right now. Just sayin'.........
CUJO#31 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 I'm only posting to point out the hilarity in having a username tied to the worst instance of goalie-go-round-ism the Wings have ever had. Joseph's tenure from beginning to end was a massive mistake. WORST instance?!?!? I'm sure the Wings offense would have stepped up in all those 0-1 point games had it not been for Cujo standing in their way...then he was run out of town... WORST instance??? I think the only bad thread to all this is the fact we turn our back on our netminders so fast and never stick with the same guy. Should we have shipped Dats off when he wasn't firing on all cylinders in the post season??? Because he would magically become better playing before another team then we could ****** him up at the perfect time because we have such vast insight into all of that FUTURE information and all... CUJO#31 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 Great thread to start at this point in the season............ hindsight will always be 20/20 but I really don't think Osgood would've been any better in any of those years. The fact that these goalie threads on this site exists proves that there was justification for him not being a starter here. Well I started saying this back in 2003 but with Ozzie back NOW and doing so well NOW it seemed like the time to point out maybe we should have kept him. Seeing as how we don't hold the same revolving door standard for our other players...So now we are just supposed to capture lightning in the bottle and trade goalies every year because we have a feeling there is a shelf life on how well they will do in the season??? Hell why aren't we doing it with everyone??? yeahhhhhhhhh....
GoalieManPat 1,007 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 I think Cujo is stoned or something. His posts in this thread all seem filled with anger. Like what was all over here at the trade deadline. Can someone tell him the wings are rolling and 1 win from the Cup finals. Maybe that will put him in a better mood. PS. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP CAPITALIZING WORDS
