cirov19 1 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 (edited) So I'm watching TSN. I don't know if anybody has posted this yet but I really don't think anybody has. First of all, Ovechkin is one funny guy. When asked what Bruce Boudreau brought to the Caps Ov goes, "Well he funny guy.. he make us laugh in the dressing room and he funny... how he dress." So now my attention is caught. Then he is asked, "Do you think the Pittsburgh Penguins have a chance to win the cup." Ov responds, "For sure." Which is fine... then I keep watching and he is asked 'Why?' Ov - "I think Pittsburgh win the Cup." Now I know a guy is entitled to his opinion but I just thought this was kind of off, from a guy like Ovechkin...completely unexpected. I'm kind of shocked. Trust me though, I'm not getting cocky... I know it is possible. Does anybody have a reason for why this comment may be besides the fact that Pittsburgh could possibly be a comeback team? Is there something about Pitts we don't know, or is this series just going to be a huge disappointment for us, as fans of great hockey. cirov19 1 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 (edited) I didn't add the last question... "How can you expect the Pens to win when they haven't scored a goal yet?" Ov, "I know they don't score... They win two at home, and two on the road." So he then predicts Pitts will sweep the next 4 games. This guy on TSN asking the questions is Michael Landsberg. Not really, that means that it'll go to a game seven cause the wings will have to win one in Pittsburgh if the pens want to win two while at the joe.

Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 As the Pens have shown, no one the Eastern Conference actually knows who the Detroit Red Wings are. So I can't blame him.
sibiriak 84 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 Guys, you need to listen to the whole clip. Right after saying what you are discussing, he said: "Seriously, I don't care who wins, Detroit or Pittsburgh." He was just clowning for the camera. Like with the rest of his answers. He did predict a Pitt victory tonight, 5-3. If that comes to pass, THEN y'all can start worrying. I'm sorry when I said "they win two at home and two away." It may have been, "they win two at home and the next two." I really just tried to remember everything I could because the TV I was watching on doesn't record. But it would've added up to six games the way it was said. He thinks Pittsburgh, he doesn't care though. I thought Pittsburgh was going to knock out Philly. I didn't care who won though. I thought it was interesting it happened to be Pitts Ov picked. I don't care what Ov thinks though. Edited May 28, 2008 by cirov19

He was obviously just trying to be funny. If Detroit was 0-2 he'd have said Detroit would win.
