Graybeard 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2008 I'm looking at this as much as it hurts in a reality sense : Reality#1 - As much as Pens fan's on some people on this board seem to thing we are still winning this series 3-2. Reality#2 - We have outplayed the Pens for all but 3 or 4 periods of this whole series and we out played them by a ridiculous amount in the last 2 periods of reg and all of the OT last night. We ran into a red hot goalie and there isn't much more we could do last night to win that game. Reality#3 - Game 6 is in their barn and they seem to have all the momentum right now but we can squash that momentum in heartbeat if we come out hard and score the 1st goal. Reality#4 - We are the best team in the league, we are built on skill and experience and I feel very comfortable that this team will play a good game tommorrow night!! Will it be enough to win the cup? I sure as hell hope so!! Actually there is something they can do to deal with a red hot goalie. Get our guys up in his grill. It's what always works for us against good/streaking goalies. We got a way from that last night and it hurt our game but I'm sure Babs will recognize that and tell Homer to get his ass back in there where he belongs instead of shooting from the point. ThreeRiversFan 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2008 No matter how bad you think one or more of our guys have played in this game or this series, look at the bright side. At least Malkin isn't on our team. Honestly, that guy was so freakin bad in game 5 I don't know how we didn't win. I would serious think about sitting his ass for the next game if I was Therrien. As a coach I might be able to live with the fact that he can't find the net with a map, a gps, and a personal guide to show him the way but the dude is a serious liability the way he is playing right now. I kind of lost count but what was the guy, like a -20 or something for the game? I've never seen someone give the puck away so much. And that bit where he's laying on the ice like he's injured but it turns out he's just tired? He seriously needs to sit for game six and maybe he'll be ready to play again if there does turn out to be a game seven. He seemed to be OK finding Sykora in the 3rd OT.....lol But yeah...he's been invisible since game 2 of the Philly series...Richards lit him up with a wicked (clean) hit....he may be hurt...or concussed...who knows....yoou just dont go from great to s***ty that quick
