Freep even admitted the Pens probably would have won anyway due to Fleury's fantastic goal keeping. However, if a penalty is a penalty... where were the MULTITUDE of hooking/holding/interference calls that were all over the neutral zone on both sides? I understand just letting the boys play the game, but I don't think anyone outside of the Penguins bench could believe the two "goaltender interference" calls. That's the same play that every team has made all season without penalty. It's frustrating to play 82 games in the regular season, play into the Stanley Cup Finals - and NOW they determine that the way the entire league has played - has been wrong.

Oh... and the double minor that should have been served by Pittsburgh in Game 3 was a penalty - but yet it wasn't. s*** happens. The great teams are separated from the rest by the line of adversity they have to overcome. Which is exactly why I have faith the Red Wings will cap off this season by hoisting Lord Stanley for their vivacious fan base.

the penalty on huds was called correctly (although we've seen similar non-calls as well)... i don't normally advocate bitching about officiating, but those two phantom goalie interference calls were utter bulls***... although those calls might have temporarily changed the momentum of the game, i don't think they really factored into the end result... simply put, we all too often get caught scrambling in our own end when the other team pulls their goalie for an extra attacker... it happened last year, and it happend this year... hopefully, in the end, that doesn't change the overall outcome.

I agree that high stick penalty was the right call.

I also agree if the refs were consistent, they would have called that same penalty in Game 3 when one of the Pens bloodied Listrom's mouth. There probably would have been no game 5 as more than likely Detroit would have swept the Pens.

Both of those goaltender inference calls were an absolute disgrace though.
