I know what you mean. I think its because of the team. Players like Franz, Huds, Helm, Flip, Lebs, Z are all players us as fans have watched develop, unlike in 02, when the Wings were full of stars and it was pretty much a no brainer they would win the cup. This year, the individual skill was not nearly as great, but the team was amazing. I still cant believe it. I look at the pics of the players I mentioned lifting the cup, and it is almost shocking.

It was great season this year. They dominated whole season. They deserved Stanley, Pens couldn't match them at all. Both wins were lucky ones.

Thanks so much Wings!!!! I love this team, and this was a great feeling tonight!! 11th Cup and its unbeliveable. They all said we couldn't do this, we weren't strong enough, to old, not physical enough!! Well guess what, they can all kiss our REDWING ASSES!!! YEAH BABY!!!!!! GO WINGS!!!!!! this has most def been my favorite cup victory. WOW!! I still cant believe it, and i still cant sleep!!!!!!!!!!! as great as this team is now, i think by fall they will be even better!! we will be younger, and all the kids that got to be part of the celebration tonight are gonna want to battle through themselves now, and it should motivate them THAT much more!!!

but OMG im still so happy!!!!!!!! i wqatched my dvr of the end of the game like 5 times. incredible! i should try to sleep now, but before i do, i must say i really hope Behind Enemy Lines is doing good, and I hope he knows that WE ARE THE CHAMPS!!! cant wait to see him post here again!

Why does it feel like this Cup is the most surreal than the three others we've won? Is it just me thinking this? It's SO CRAZY AND AMAZING. I can't describe it.

I agree, especially after the playoff exits of 2003, 2004, and 2006, and Stevie and Shanny leaving, it almost felt like we wouldn't win it again or for a very long time.

2008 is like a storybook ending with Ozzie as #1 and DMac back.

I'm so happy for everyone on the team, I'm especially happy for Maltby, Draper, Lidstrom, Holmstrom, and McCarty for winning their 4th. Whan an accomplishment.

Great game and in my opinion, the Pens were compeltely out played and outclassed. 5-on-5, they couldn't do anything against the Wings.

And while every analyst went back to kissing Malkin's ass, he was only visible on the PP.

The Wings dominated that game and if it weren't for some very suspsect penalties, it could have easily been a shutout victory.

I'm a big fan of Crosby's but after the game he again said how he felt both teams had equal scoring chances.
He was on the ice, but the big picture I saw was a Wings team that was clearly dominating a young Pittsburgh team. It was fun watching the Pens struggle to even carry the puck through the neutral zone.

WoW! What more can i say, plenty actually, still just taking it in, celebrated last night and still havent slept, layed in bed listening to the Ticket 97.1, cant get enough of all the postgame and highlights. The game to finish it had me gasping for air in those last 2 minutes, we got it done thats the most important thing. That Z goal sneaking in man, there is so much that can be said about the win and the series in general, Stuart's hit on Crosby, instant classic!

Seeing all the boys out on the ice enjoying the moment that was great, this was the most emotional cup win or run for me to watch.

I enjoyed the roller coaster ride with all the fellow LGW'ers.


To all who doubted it and all those analysts that said were arent tough enough, or any other gibberish that was discussed, DETROIT RED WINGS STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS 2008.

Couldn't agree more... and thanks for telling us detroit was going to win tonight no question in your mind... gave me confidence and i was less stresss even though that last second killed me lol
