I just had a double dip seeing it on Saturday night at Chelis and having beer poured on me from the Cup care of Zetterberg. Then we saw it at Fifth Avenue in Royal Oak later in the night. Krystal 41 Report post Posted June 8, 2008 Seeing as nobody cool comes from Kansas City... xD my only 'Cup Encounter' was when the NHL had it on parade during the lockout in an effort to raise money for Hockey Fights Cancer. I was interviewed by local NBC and I said on the air that "hopefully the Cup will be back in Detroit this Summer where it belongs". Looks like I was right! TigerDan 20 Report post Posted June 8, 2008 (edited) Not that it's really news, but I guess technically it's a "sighting": Draper and Rafalski had it at the Tigers game and threw out the first pitch at Saturday's game. It was the biggest ovation in the game until the 8th inning - and hardly anyone was in their seats yet to see it. I normally don't get seated until just before game time, but I was glad I made it to my seat in time to see that - definately cool. They set the cup in the infield while they were throwing out their pitches and low and behold, the Tigers won. I think they need to set it in the bullpen for a little while --- maybe the batters box too. lol Actually, I thought they should put it in the dugout and let the players stare at it to see if they got the message.
