is it just me or is this Rome guy putting a lot of effort in producing

gazillion words in a second during what is actually a calm interview?

I got tired of his endless chatter after just 2 minutes of the video...

Osgood sucks, Brodeur sucks, etc. etc...Chris was great this year but mediocre most other years. Brodeur has played pretty well in the last few so suddenly his days of seeing 15 shots a game are raised to a pedestal...face it, if Osgood had lost this year, everyone would hate the guy...so why does winning it this year elevate him so much. He was a big reason for winning but his career has been pretty average at best.

That may be true (not that I agree at all) but I know for me, I love Ozzy because he seems to appreciate the city of Detroit, regardless of what they think of him. He hasnt always been like in D town, but He has always loved playing for the Wings, and to be honest, its very refreshing to see a professional athlete who displays the love for the city and fans he plays for.

just my 2 cents

I enjoyed that interview, but will admit that I questioned the game of Osgood after the 2000-01 season. I was glad the Wings signed Hasek for the next season and don't think that they could have won the Cup without him. It was ironic that the tables had turned and that the Wings could not have won the Cup without Osgood this year.

Osgood was right when he said how he would not be at this interview with Rome without making adjustments to his game post-lockout. It seems that success in sports is directly related to making adjustments, and Osgood is a good example why.

What Oz did was more complicated, and far more involved, than "making adjustments". He changed his whole game, after 20+ years, and movements and actions which ceased to be conscious, and became instinctual, decades ago. What he did, in essence, was the equivalent of "re-training" oneself to be left-handed, as opposed to right-handed.

One shouldn't underestimate the significance of that, nor downplay the dedication it took to make the transition successful.

Add to that the fact that he chose to reinvent himself after 11 years, and what cannot be argued as anything other than a GREAT deal of success at his chosen position, and you have a testament to the Character of the man, and the level at which his competitive fires burn.

As I've always said, and as is finally being acknowledged, the Wings are fortunate to have him. Always have been.
