I love it when people say things like this; "so-and-so player will definitely take a paycut to play here!" Then said people get angry when Holland doesn't manage to 'make it happen.' Avery is not a key player, but he scores goals...and he is very intertaining. Wasn't Avery the Ranger's top goal scorer in the playoffs this year? To me Avery is a cross between say Mathew Barnaby & Dan Cleary. He will get under your skin like Barnaby, and the determination of Cleary. If you give him the chance he will score goals. Yeah but TO on the field is a lot more professional than Avery, when does TO jump around in front of the other team. He may celebrate after a TD or stand on the star to piss people off, but he doesn't jump around like a fool trying to distract people. But I will give you he is probably the worst teammate in professional sports! Avery has more talent than Maltby ever did, and plays hard, giving 110% almost every shift. Yes he is a douchebag, but to say he is just a useless trash talker is unfair. That is what resulted in the "blanket party" covered up by a fake "car accident" and then finished by the letting go of Eric Lindros... ..great teammate there (oh, great wives too, lets not make THEM out to be completely innocent) (if you're wondering, inside source) ...back to topic: Rolston, Sundin , Fedorov or Bertuzzi.
