Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 No, secondary scoring is more necessary than getting a top-liner. We have secondary scoring in Mule, Homer, Flip, Cleary, Sammy and Hudler. That we have this supposedly great need for secondary scoring is a myth; signing Naslund would be redundant and mostly pointless. As things stand, we only have two big goal-scorers, maybe three if Mule keeps it up. Therefore, if there's a "need" in the forward corps, it's a top-tier guy -- who, no, would not necessarily have to play on the second line.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Watch a Vancouver game. This guy plays with ZERO passion. This is the exact opposite direction we should be going in. Especially at the price he'll get with so few big name forwards on the market. The guy had 13 hits in 82 games. And can't even crack the PK on the Canucks. Um, you do realize the Wings have one of the best first lines in the NHL, right?
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 I was against Naslund at the start, but if management think he has waht it takes to play with heart and stop being so damn lazy, I'm all for it. I'm beginning to agree that Sundin and Rolston aren't going to happen, and Bertuzzi is a long shot. I'm kind of afraid we're only going to sign a goalie who we don't need and let that be the end of it.

Saran 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 f*** NO! I HATE NASLUND. I will be soo pissed off and could not cheer for him even with a Winged Wheel on his chest. So 'no' to Naslund, kids.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 I'd play wth ZERO passion too if I had to play for the Canucks! Thats a ridiculous excuse. And even more pathetic when youre the captain. Naslunds the one guy that should be going down with the ship if it ever came to it. Instead hes the first one of the boat.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 (edited) Unless we've all of sudden gone back in time five years, I don't know why anyone would even be remotely interested in Naslund. He play's so soft that you wonder why he's even playing hockey. Like previous posters have mentioned, the guy has absolutley no passion at all. He's become the Swedish Yashin, without the huge contract and money, if that helps anyone out. Naslund is one pathetic excuse for a hockey player in his current form, and really, I hope he outright leaves the NHL. It's better for the game that passionless players like him are gotten ride of. russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 I think for the price he could go for he is a great option. I think playing for a winning team will bring some passion back. And to all the feds posts, I wish it weren't true but no way he signs here, its going to be Washington, no question. Naslund I think would get 50-60 points on our second line and could bring Filppula's point totals up with him.

chrisdetroit 189 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 ...he did score 31 in 2004, but yeah, he has had some low years since. Washed up, dunno about that, but he would be a suitable replacement for Drake. Similar production, loads more pontential, but yeah, for me if not Rolston or Sundin, then may as well be noone, unless Feds or Bert will take less than 1.5... ...hey, Holland gave Petr Klima a shot in 1999 so why not give Feds a shot in 2009? ...bottom line, if you cannot get Rolston, throw 8 million at Sundin for the season and see if he bites... He's 38 and has not scored much in the last 3 seasons. Explain this potential thing to me again.... His scoring has been going down hill and that's suddenly going to change at the age of 38. It's time to let go of the dream.
