YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 (edited) Lebda might garner something half-way decent in a trade. Most folks see him as a respectable Dman. Add that to the fact that hes speedy and a puck-mover, and some team that lost out on the Campbell-Redden-Streit sweepstakes will likely try and piece together some would-be bottom pairing puck-movers, stick 'em on the 2nd pairing, and call it a day. I agree, the only question is what do we want back??? We most likely would have to wait until the deadline to get a higher pick. If we only want a fourth or something like that we most likely could work a deal out. Lets offer Burke Lebda, Lilja, and Bertuzzi freshly resigned for 1.2 million in exchange for Schneider. LOL. Systemfel 33 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Gonna say Lebda. He has the most trade value probably, too.
Guest Dump-N-Thump Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Just as I mentioned in another thread - what makes you so sure that guys like Meech/Quincey have more potential than Lebda? Because Lebda has been a 5/6/7 his whole career in detroit... He has proven time and time again he will only ever be a 5/6/7.. Meech and Quincey could already be a 5/6/7 and we have yet to see how much better they can be.
Rivalred 630 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Lets all take a step back and think into the Wing's history of trading away D men over the last 10 years or so.... What D men have been traded away and what kind of player were they when compared to the current stock pile?

I will say I tend to only remember the amazing.
dteowner 20 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Off the top of my head-- Anders Ericksen (grew to be a passable 5/6) Golubovski (washout in Washington, IIRC) Aaron Ward (overachieved to stardom in Carolina but probably no better than a 3/4)
