How Long Do You Think?

Well, folks, we've had two important signings today (Stuart and Conklin), but I think I speak for all of us when I say we're still itching for that BIG NAME, whoever he may be. And so far none of the big dogs have gone anywhere. So how long do you personally expect it to take for Hossa, Sundin, Rolston, Bertuzzi, Bouwmeester, etc. to sign?

Myself, I can't guess a time frame, but I do think Rolston will take a while, being that he's had at least 10 offers to weed through and negotiate. But what about the others? Any gambling posters out there?

If Sundin only wanted money - he'd be in Vancouver already after that ridiculous offer. So I'm going to say he's going to take a few days, or at least the rest of today, to mull over offers and pick his spot.

Hossa I think is waiting to see what Sundin gets and then is going to try to get near the same that he does since he probably believes he's equally as valuable and doesn't want to get "cheated" on his pay.

Bertuzzi will take what he can that gives him security and a chance to win. Probably won't be long before he's signed somewhere.

Rolston will wait til he hears from Detroit for certain that he won't be signed here since it was reported (I think) that he would like to come here. He has the right to take his time though, teams would love his services.

As for everyone else - they'll probably take the most money/security they get and sign as soon as they can.

Hossa will fall first, then Rolston will have to decide if he really wants to play for us or not.

Because if he does, he will have to wait on Sundin. Sundin is our real lynchpin.

Hollands plan is

Sundin 1A Odds 2/7

Hossa 1B 1/100

Rolston C 1/40

Mystery- D 3/8

Bertuzzi -E 1/4

Nothing -F 2/5

I just can't see us getting Hossa. Hossa will get a long-term deal somewhere and the Wings can't give it to him.

It'll be Sundin, Bertuzzi, or another 1-2 year deal with incentives type thing. If any at all.

I didn't say they were going to get him, but he put an offer out there and will wait and see if he takes it before making a move on someone smaller.

Just imagine if he signed Ryder or someone like that for 3 million then Hossa accepts a deal on the table and now we have to move someone!!!!
