wingsdiehard13 33 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 http://www.kuklaskorner.com/index.php/hock...other_rfa_shot/ Best bet? Detroit winger Valterri Filppula. The Red Wings tend not to lose players they want to keep—and Filppula definitely fits that category—but they are running out of cap space. It might take an offer in the $4 million dollar range to force them to pass
NEEDMOREGRIT 12 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 (edited) http://www.kuklaskorner.com/index.php/hock...other_rfa_shot/ Sounds good to me. He's not worth 4 million. Give the money to Downey Edited July 4, 2008 by NEEDMOREGRIT
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 If they offered 20 million for Sundin they'll offer 4 million for Filpulla. But Flip won't take it.
10 Minute Misconduct 104 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 If they offered 20 million for Sundin they'll offer 4 million for Filpulla. But Flip won't take it. Why wouldn't he take it?
wingsdiehard13 33 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 Filppula sounds like he's happy to be a Wing. I doubt he would sign an offer sheet to go to Vancouver.
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 This really saddens me. It better not be the case.
Guest mindfly Report post Posted July 4, 2008 Finnish people aren't usually greedy, don't think filppula is that either.. he'll stay with wings trust me
wingsdiehard13 33 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 Considering the 'Nucks traded for Bernier today, maybe this wont be the case.
Guest Four Report post Posted July 4, 2008 It would be sad to see Filpula gone, but it would give Helm a chance to play on the fourth line all season and such. Either way Detroit is set.
10 Minute Misconduct 104 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 People are high if they think Filppula wouldn't sign an offer sheet in the $4 million range.
Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 Filppula is not gonna accept their offer sheet. He will be a Wing for years to come
Cicada 4 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 if he gets an offer sheet in the 4mill range we'll find out who he really is. If he signs it he know we'll have to make some sacrifices.. it'll tell us if he's a life long wing or not... the fact remains though, he's never going to be superstar in this league, and he hasn't made his money already like some, Hossa, etc. He'd be a fool career wise to turn it down. Guest Four Report post Posted July 4, 2008 If I was Filpula, sadly I would probably go to Vancouver and get some money. I would have already won the cup and the wings are stacked tbh
Guest EZBAKETHAGANGSTA Report post Posted July 4, 2008 . Honestly if Filpulla does get offered more than 3.7 million or wahtever the cut off is i hope he takes it. Its better for him and for us for a couple reasons. 1: It would be hideous overpayment for him right now 2. Were allready stacked 3. and.... The Canucks can be a lottery team right now and if we have their first rounder it can be a possible top 5 pick. What if they win the lottery and we got Tarvares? that would just be SICK
Glubki 17 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 Four Million for Filpulla? Plus all those draft picks (1st, 2nd, 3rd round picks)?? I can't see an offer sheet on him for that much - maybe one for around 2.75M and a 1st and 3rd but hes not in the 4M compensation range...
Tr!PoD#19 524 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 God I hope they offer 4 mil, and he takes it.
Guest Dump-N-Thump Report post Posted July 4, 2008 (edited) Why are you so sure that Filpulla wouldn't accept the offer sheet. its easy to say No, when your just thinking about it, but when a team is like "you always going to be in Z and Dats shadow, Your never going to get the opportunity to be the superstar that you can be, Here in Vancouver you will be on our top line with Henrik and Daniel, You have the opportunity here to be on the top line and PP. Why would Valterie choose Detroit over Vancouver? its not like he grew up a wings fan and has an attachment to Detroit or anything.. He just likes the situation here, Who's to say he wouldn't love the situation in Vancouver. ---- Yes i think flipper will stay a wing though.. But i wouldn't shed a ounce of energy complaining if he left eitehr Edited July 4, 2008 by Dump-N-Thump

Redwingsfan18 1 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 No surprise here. Hopefully it's not a ridiculous offer - however I wouldn't mind losing Flip and signing Hossa instead. Obviously theres no guarantee we sign Hossa after this season but without Fils salary it would definitely open up the cash needed. If Vancouver offers him some ridiculous amount then forget it - but I don't think they're THAT stupid to offer up that much. What would we get in return btw?
