edicius 3,269 Report post Posted July 11, 2008 Wonder if this has to do with not shoring up the defensive corps at all. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=243131&lid...os=secStory_nhl
StevieY9802 6 Report post Posted July 11, 2008 I think it has to do with the new ownership wanting something that Jay didn't is all. If the new ownership wasn't there I don't see them spending the money as much as they have. New owners want someone who shares their thoughts on the team is what I think has happened. Hank 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2008 Why the hell was this done now and not before 7/1? I'm almost positive this is Feaster's wishes. Usually when a coach is forced on a GM by the owner, there's a clash in interests. It's the same thing that happened to Neil Smith when the Islanders owner hired Ted Nolan over his head. In my opinion, these new owners are ass-clowns. If you want to build a winner you let your executives do it. You don't go out and hire a coach to sell tickets only. That was the first sign that I knew these guys are morons. Feaster probably agreed to stay on for the draft, resign players and grab the UFA's needed but after that was accomplished, he'd walk away. Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted July 11, 2008 Good for Jay. He did a fine job in Tampa Bay and built a couple of contenders in his term. Lawton, Koules and Barrie have been running the show since coming in. It doesnt surprise me they havent been thinking about defence, Barrie and Lawton are former NHLers, forwards that is. Tampa Bay will be much better this year, but they need another defenceman. With Gator gone, there gonna need to make trade
