“I’m really happy doing what I’m doing, and I’m enjoying working in the organization and trying to add value and help out,” said Yzerman. “I’ve learned a ton, and I will continue to learn just by being around. But I have goals, and because our organization is deep in the management level, and our guys are successful and they’re young — it’s something that at some point, we’re going to have sit down and discuss it.”

Yzerman Hints he may leave for better position...

Not sure about the credibility or the details, just an alert that I get about the Wings through Google Alerts.

Yep, anyone could see this coming.

I'd prefer him to stay with the Wings, but since he already showed his franchise loyalty in being amongst the best of all time with one team, good luck to him, wherever he may go (not against the Wings, of course). Will always be pulling for his success.

I've debated internally about what the outcome in terms of personal opinion would be if Yzerman went to another organization, seeing as he's one of my idols. The resounding answer has been that the organization he lands at instantly becomes my second favorite hockey club.

The man is 75% of the reason I love hockey. The other 25% is also likely attributable to him indirectly.

Indeed, my dad was an Yzerman fan, when he died in 1993 and my family from Redford introduced me to hockey, I instantly became an Yzerman fan. There's just nothing about the guy to dislike. He's an honorable player and a good guy all around. The business side is business, but he's proven himself to the Red Wings and fans.

Old news, this news article was copied from an old interview, which had a thread a week or two ago. :)

Ooops...sorry. Stupid schedule with school and all...I have to open up like 5 tabs to check all of the Forum groups that I'm part of, and thats usually past 1am haha

I don't think there would be many hard feelings against him. Playing hockey and working off the ice so to speak are 2 different things. He will always be a Wing to me.
