Opie 308 Report post Posted October 2, 2008 Hossa first... that's a bit much. I agree the true question is do they think Hossa is that good or that playing along side Dats will get him that much fantasy points!
Tane 17 Report post Posted October 2, 2008 I agree the true question is do they think Hossa is that good or that playing along side Dats will get him that much fantasy points! Keith Jones pointed to his first year with the Thrashers being a big one, and Also Said that Playing Alongside Datsyuk, he'd lead the league in Points. Those 4 Drafted, then after tehy were done, Craig Conroy put a team together from what was left over. 4 Forwards, 2 Defencemen, 1 Goalie and 1 Rookie. The Most Notable - Ilya Kovalchuck Wasn't Drafted. i'm sure tsn.ca will have the full teams somewhere....My first thought was Wow, I can't believe how bad these "experts" are, but then figured, they're bad, but they only play against each other year after year, and someone's winning....so it's not like they've had to develop good fantasy hockey strategies. DatsyukownzU13 1 Report post Posted October 2, 2008 Mike Green before Lidstrom? Malkin before Zetterberg? Hossa/Crosby before Ovechkin? Malkin over Z is no suprise and same thang for Cindy over Ovechkin (they are about equal fantasy-wise).
Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted October 2, 2008 And Mike Green at 8!?!? Led all D-men in goals last season, he is a solid pick. Easily top 10 and should be one of the first D-Men selected.
CrossoverThrash 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2008 Led all D-men in goals last season, he is a solid pick. Easily top 10 and should be one of the first D-Men selected. hes not 100% proven though, id def go wiht Lids or Rafalski before Green
MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted October 2, 2008 (edited) They encourage those guys to go "off the board" with their fantasy picks because it makes for better on-air discussion/debate. Edited October 2, 2008 by MacK_Attack
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted October 2, 2008 I was watching this, and the kind of personality Keith Jones is, he wanted to be bold and make some of the most outrageous picks just so if he happens to win, he'll be the talk of the town. But yeah, what Mack said, they encourage them to go off the board a bit too, but then again, discussion is not so much needed as after every pick, the analysts go at least a minute stating their reasoning. So plenty of TV time is taken up regardless of how bold they are. Hossa first though? I was confused...
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted October 2, 2008 Oh, and I honestly think with the "scraps" that Craig Conroy picked, he has a chance to do pretty good. I mean he got scraps and still managed to pull out Chara, Pronger, and Turco. 4 pretty consistant point getting forwards as well (except Cammalleri, which was obviously a biased pick).
