96warrior 11 Report post Posted October 3, 2008 http://www.mlive.com/redwings/ Holmstrom being cautious with sore knee by Ansar Khan Friday October 03, 2008, 12:26 PM Update from Friday's morning skate: Tomas Holmstrom won't play in tonight's preseason game against Toronto at Joe Louis Arena due to a sore left knee. He hopes to practice Saturday and play in Sunday's preseason finale vs. Buffalo. "Better today, it was sore the other day,'' Holmstrom said. "Just normal during preseason, sometime you get fluid in it and need to rest. Better to (rest) it now than have a setback in a couple of days.''
#19=Legend 29 Report post Posted October 3, 2008 Not a biggie. Like Homer said, these things tend to happen in the preseason. Not in season form yet.

sixer 37 Report post Posted October 4, 2008 I'd like to see Holmstrom take care of himself this year and be healthy once the playoffs start. Take as long as you need!

Sergei Fedorov91 24 Report post Posted October 4, 2008 Take the rest of the preseason off, let those forwards battling for those last spots get increased ice time.

Yer, franzen's a beast, I know and cleary's an up and coming screener too, I saw him in game 5 of the scf when Tomas was out with a hamstring injury. Utter speculation but I think Tomas might have taught him a thing or two. Of course cleary and franzen cant screen like Tomas but they can take his place. I just want to see Tomas get better and come back healthy cause he's my fav player and I love him. and he's the best at what he does imo. He's quite dangerous when he wants to be. swedishseven 9 Report post Posted October 4, 2008 it seems that franzen has learned so much from homer...and we can only hope that he can continue his power-forward type play as well as adding in the homer-style front of the net play...garbage goals are still goals...right??? I saw them trying it again....to make the pretty goal instead of just shooting the darn puck and, um.....yea. we know where it got them Edited October 4, 2008 by Holmstrom96Screens
