Following players placed on waivers today:

- Anders Eriksson (Calgary)

- Rhett Warrener (Calgary)

- Jamie Lundmark (Calgary)

- Mark Bell (Toronto)

Also, Richard Matvichuk released by Columbus

Tomorrow is the deadline to place players on waivers who won't be on opening day rosters.

what a sad sad story for Bell. Granted he brought most of this on himself, but it wasn't long he was a highly sought after prospect.

And furthermore, didn't he have a lot of supporters on this site and a few wanted the Wings to sign him? 25 goals, 48 points in 2005/06 along with 107 PIM's. It's all been downhill from this point onwards, on and off the ice.

there's to many teams who have gaps to fill for this guy to slip through the cracks. It's not like he's a washed up veteran, he's a restoration project that if successful could pay off heavily for the right team.

Scott walker and J. Williams are both out for Carolina, and last year they hit gold by plucking samsanov off the wire, wonder if they'll do the same with bell.

I will admit at one time , when Bell was with the Blackhawks, that I would have liked to seen Bell wearing Red...
