Leino skating in place of Holmstrom

Now we probably won't have to be afraid of Leino coming back to Finland.

He knows he'll get NHL matches under his belt although he'll most likely spend time in Grand Rapids too.

btw, fabian brunnström wanted to go to detroit but the fact that its almost impossible to crack the lineupmade him choose dallas because it's way easier to crack the lineup... Why not try with the best? I don't understand anticipated players joining worse teams just to get more playing time. Why be 2nd best when you can be the best?

That's one way of fulfilling your dream of playing in the NHL. Don't blame him for choosing Dallas. It's not like he signed for the Kings or something.

Btw,Leino picked Red Wings because of their style of play,which he said suited him.

This morning's practice is underway and the good news is that Tomas Holmstrom is skating with the team. Holmstrom missed yesterday's practice with a banged-up foot -- the result of blocking a shot in Sunday's preseason finale.

All active roster players are on the ice.
