Comin from Hamilton for season opener..few questions

hey there,so tomorrow me and a buddy are comin from hamilton and are quite pumped up for it.Anyways im wondering,what would be better,to cross border and park in detroit or at the arena...or i also heard that there's a bus from downtown Windsor that leaves every so often to the arena,so im wondering if that is true,and if so if u know how much that costs?Also well b there early so wondering if theres ne safe places in the area to hang out for until game time..also I hear that the puck drops at 7,so wondering what time you's that are attending the game will b at the arena for,because I don't want to miss the banner raising!

I don't know about all the bull you have to go through to get into Michigan, so based on my lack of knowledge, I would recommend parking EARLY around Hockeytown or Cheli's Chili (both right by Comerica park on Woodward). The side roads in that area are free and I've never been robbed or anything so don't worry about that. Hockeytown and Cheli's are both amazing pregame places to hang out, and they offer a free shuttle that travels to the Joe every 15 or 30 minutes or so. As they are both sports bars, the food is also cheaper than at the Joe, so fill up there.

The pre game ceremony starts at 7 according to mlive, and the doors to the Joe open at 5.

pardon me but the only trouble i ever have being downtown is the bums.now if the arena was on 8 mile and john r then you might wanna worry a bit,but downtowns straight.and yea hang out at chelis or hockeytown and catch the bus over and back.

LOL.. everyone that is not from Detroit area thinks they are going to get stuck up when they come for the game... I would be more afraid of getting attacked by a crack head in downtown Hamilton...

how true thats why i stay up on the hill lol. i think they don't know how to get up here yet
