I've bumped a couple of the threads I made a while ago, so everyone can see them again. They include the Dats, Z Lidstrom, Osgood, Mule one, which is a private signing, as well as the Larionov one.

why would anyone pay for an autograph when you can get one for free?

Not everyone is able to get a free autograph. I live about 4-5 hours from Detroit, and while I don't mind going to Detroit for an autograph, if that's the sole reason I'm goin, I'd rather pay a little money to guarantee the player will be there to sign, than just go on the off chance I might get a signature. Unfortunately, some players command a very large sum of money for an autograph...

i can do 10 or 20 dollars or donate items needed but to pay 100 or more is just insane, gordie howe or not. now if i had to pay 100 for yzerman i would do that 1 time and 1 time only.

gordie signing in decmber i see,he must be a millionare seeing he charges 100 bucks a autograph

You have to remember that some of that money goes to the people that setup the autograph signing so he doesn't see every cent of it. Plus, if it was free you would be waiting in line for hours on end to get an autograph.

We met him last year in Denver and it was worth every penny paid, he's the sweetest guy ever :)

Yeah, they don't actually see all the money. The promoter gets the lion share of it, and actually are the ones who determine how much they will charge.
