St Louis reaction to Palin dropping puck this Friday

In before this one gets moved... <_<

Nice to see that the Palin curse is alive and well. Blues get shut out AND Legace gets injured as a direct result of Palin being there. I feel sorry for Manny, but not for the Blues. They knew what they were getting into after seeing what happened to Philly. :D

The same reason Chicago fans hate us.

First, let me say that I'm not here to spam the board, or start a flame war. As a Hawks fan, the Detroit Red Wings are far and away my least favorite team in sports. That said, I definitely admire your team for a lot of reasons...maybe even envy. Although I hate the Wings, I think that they are a class organization for the way that they seem to treat their players, and I think that they generally go about things the right way when it comes to personnel...off ice and on.

For a lot of new Blackhawk fans, they only know that they're supposed to hate the Red Wings, and don't really know why. A lot of post-1996 Red Wings fans know that we hate you guys, but they also don't know why. For Hawks fans like me, who have been there throughout the thick and thin (mostly thin over the past 20 years!) it's more of a historical thing. Our two teams and their fans have always had one of the best, if not THE best rivalry in the NHL. Your rivalry with Colorado lasted a few years, but ours goes back for over 70 years.

I'll always cheer loud for my Hawks, and loud against the Wings. That said, I'm never above having a beer and a good conversation with fans of ANY team, and I hope I don't start any crap with my post! Here's to a good season for both of our teams so we can get this rivalry back to where it needs to be! ;)

No, but she's doing that implicitly by dropping the puck in the first place. She's telling people "Hey, $150 000 shopping spree aside, I'm just like the average citizen who can appreciate a good sporting event. I'm a candidate that can relate to everyone who is sitting down to watch the game, you should think about that when you go to the polls in less than two weeks."

There's no stretch here as to what Palin is trying to pull off, arguing that it isn't a political stunt because she isn't EXPLICITLY giving a speech is frankly rather naive. Believe it or not, political candidates have campaign devices at their disposal that go beyond standing behind a podium.

One quick jab: Even with that 150,000 shopping spree, she still makes less than half of what any of the big four candidates make. So, technically, factually, she is the closest to "just like us" as any of them.

Now, I have to agree, with my jab aside, that politics and sports don't mix. The onlyt hing left that unites us is sports. Michigan is falling apart, let's hope they all stay away from us so we can enjoy our sports in peace and heckling (of the other team).

Welcome to LGW. It's about time we have a GOOD Blackhawks fan here. You see, we've had a few...er...rather trollish individuals in the past. I think we'll keep you, though. :D
