Spinner 6 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 I was watching NHL network last night and they are promoting heavily Hockey Fights Cancer. I got to thinking, Why not have players who fight be require to pay say. $500 into the hockey fights cancer charity. 55fan 5,133 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Nice idea, but the guys who fight are usually the lowest paid guys on the team, and usually when they fight, they are fighting on behalf of a teammate. If I may take your idea and run with it- how about a $500 donation from the team/ fight. Or a corporate sponsorship- you know, like the Belle Tire power plays, only without the annoying tire. They could donate the money in the name of the guy who wins, or in the name of both if there is no clear winner. Possible sponsers: Lucky Strikes Mrs. Blow's Hawiian Punch Blow Pops Turtle Wax Seriously, though, I do like your idea. Good cause, nice tie-in to the sport. Definately original.
