question about penalties

-grin- I'm pretty sure it stays at 100% because they scored on the PP. It wasn't more than one powerplay it was the same one. So I think the logic goes..."Was there a power play?" "Yes" "How many?" "1" "Did they score on it?" "Yes" "Okay - PP was 1 for 1 or 100%"

no, it actually would be 200% - if they score, 2 on 1 and that was it, they'd be 2 for one on the night, 3, 3 for 1, etc...

It counts towards the broad picture and a team can really crank up their PP stats on major penalties

Say a team has 3 PP in a game, one is a majpr and they score three goals, but the other 2 are minors and they score none - they are still 3 for 3 on the night, because they scored 3 goals, for 3 PP attempts....

Okay, cool. You learn something new everyday. I'll edit my above post so as not to confuse anyone.

Not really related, just didn't think it was worth starting another thread:

The refereeing to get teams back into the game trend has been prevalent this season, and its resulting in some ridiculusly high scoring contests due mostly to a lot of PP and 5 on 3 time. Flames-Preds game is a glaring example among many. The Flames lead 5-0 and got back to back questionable 5 on 3 and scored and what i thought was a kind of wimpy penalty shot, though it could be argued, Preds came back and the game ended 6-7 Flames

With the new face-off rules in place,5 on 3's are a killer this year.

It actually works that if you have a 5 min major and score on the power play you are 1/1 and a new power play begins, if you only score once on it, you are 1/2, once you have a major powerplay it is impossible to be at 100%
