SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted November 12, 2008 (edited) Is he the reason for the horrible defensive play? If so, should he be getting ready to pack his things? No. They have roughly 70 games before the playoffs to figure things out defensively. I don't care how good or bad of a team you have, everybody is going to have a crappy game defensively every now and then, whether you are the Cup champs or finished dead last in the league. That's hockey. Edited November 12, 2008 by SouthernWingsFan
The Secret 304 Report post Posted November 12, 2008 Its a good question as to wether Brad McCrimmon is not coaching the team well or not. Its a good possibility too. I never realized what a massive difference good coaching could make until we got Bowman as head coach. That fact was shown further after Bowman retired and Lewis took over... he was horrible, and we choked until we got Babcock! Now that McLellan has move to San Jose, and they are a completely different team this year, it really does make me wonder if McCrimmon was really the man to replace him? I guess time will tell! McLellen was the forwards coach. McLean coached the defense. When McLellan left, McLean moved over to the forwards, and McCrimmon came in for the defense. So, both sides have to get used to a new style, and the two coaches need to work together to get the players on the same page.
