b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted January 14, 2009 Noticed something today, Datsyuk isn't being included in the shootout in that joke of an all-star game. I remember last year he deked nicely a bunch of times and was one of the few to actually score, but in the judging he apparently didn't impress Dominique Wilkins and some guy from Friday Night Lights enough so he got a s*** score, and AO just juggled the puck like any professional hockey player can do, whiffed on the shot and damn near got 10s across the board. Players in the NHL probably respect Datsyuk's physicality more than we do. They certainly respect his physicality more than the average joe on hfboards, who are a bunch of hosers. Better? I was thinking about that the other day, what a crazy team Russia can have in that tournament. Malkin/Datsyuk/Ovechkin PP, with Fedorov (assuming he keeps playing) and Gonchar on point? And maybe the reason why you don't see him in the shootout competition is because according to an unimpeachable source, he's not going to the ASG - he's going on vacation with his family. To which I say good on him. And thank God for that. The shootout competition requires a ballerina act to win, and not scoring a goal.
