Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 Manitoba Moose (38-14-0-5) @ Grand Rapids Griffins (32-13-6-5) @ The North Division leading Manitoba Moose are in town to take on the 2nd place Grand Rapids Griffins in what looms as a massive game. The Moose have a six point advantage over the Griffins with one game in hand. The Griffins finally snapped their 5 game winless streak with a SO victory over the struggling Rochester Americans. Jimmy Howard was big in the win stopping 37 of 38 shots to get the much deserved and needed victory, for his and the teams sake. Despite getting the most recent start and the Griffins fondness of rotating goalies, Jimmy Howard will probably get the start again. At times you forget Justin Abdelkader is still a rookie as he continues to put up the points and play with such confidence. He has 11 points from the past 8 games and is currently 3rd in rookie scoring. Mattias Ritola sat out the last game due to a back complaint and defenceman Tom Galvin missed with soreness. Abdelkader and Downey with fighting majors. And the Griffins have exploded with 4 goals in the 2nd period! 2. GR Emmerton, (4) (Haydar, Kindl), 13:40 (PP) 2. Coyote0106 2 Report post Posted February 21, 2009 Larsson was pretty damn good for having the flu. He hung in there, made some nice saves. Kindl had a real nice play in the first to prevent a goal. This team had every excuse to not play well, and they showed up for the first time in quite a while. It was a really good game. Emmerton and Haydar took it to another level last night. They were skating hard, Haydar was talking to guys, showing alot of leadership. Stafford had a couple nice shots, including one in the second that you could just tell was going to end in a goal. The passes were perfect, they had numbers, and Stafford was able to finish it off. Hopefully this game didn't drain the team to the point that tonight is a sluggish start. Thx for the subscribe......no not season ticket holder I just go to alot of games lol....cant make it to away games...and will go to as many playoff games as I can. btw I almost got my camera taken away b/c of taping the fights and goals....what a load of poop (AHL regulations my ass) people who cant go to the games want to see this so I get what I can.....also I just put a new topic of a few (very few) Griffins pics.
