Who is this Federov you speak of?

I know that a FedOrov, played in Detroit, but I've never heard of a FedErov.

You'd think that someone so knowledgeable in Sergei's intent would at least know how to spell his name.

Federov left because he wanted to make a name for himself outside of Detroit. In Detroit, Federov would never be the center of attention and he knew that. Federov left not for money, but to try and glorify his name outside of Detroit. Federov did not want to be associated with a team, he wanted to be associated by his name alone.

How about Fyodorov?

That spelling made me think of Fedor Tyutin.

Besides, we all know there can be only one "Y" on the Red Wings. ;)

All prospects are told early on that if they have a Y in their name and they make it to the big club, they must legally change their name.

Tomas Kopeckie coming soon to a jersey near you.

I hear that the RafalskY jerseys a fetching a pretty penny on ebay right now.

p.s. I'm tired, I'm going to bed. This was fun.

Who in their RIGHT mind would offer Rafalski, aka defensive liability, $8 MIL?

8 MILLION? That's insanity, 6 is bad enough.

I would say Glen Sather, but in Sather's world Raflaski is worth around 12 million probably.
