Worshiping who? The Red Wings? Who is it you're rooting for then?

I cheer for the Red Wings. I feel no loyalty to root for Osgood just because he is a Red Wing when all season he has terrible and just plain not good enough to get the job done come play off time. Would be nice if he would snap out of it but how does that work? Right now he does not have the teams confidence nor does he have mine. Its his fault not mine, I am just stating the obvious... and if anyone does not see the obvious they are the ones being dubbed Osgood Worshipers.

I haven't even praised Osgood, so much as worshiped him. Even though I don't agree with their decision to start Osgood, I show my support for the Wings, whereas you call people who support the team Osgood worshipers. Pretty funny.

No, I did not agree with the teams decision to play Osgood as long as they had. That doesn't mean I am against the team or not a fan, it means I did not like their decision. Just because it the Red Wings doesn't mean everything they do is right and not to be doubted or questioned. I agreed with them benching Osgood for 10 days, I believe they should have done it much sooner... like while he was injured, given him extra him to heal his injury, clear his head, see a shrink.. whatever and also to give some extra NHL games to the guys in GR. Now we are weeks away and still unsure of where Osgood is at. Thank God that Conklin is playing well and the team is tuning up. Hopefully Osgood catches up but I'm not comfortable throwing him in for the playoffs because of last season when this entire season he has been junk.

Are you too busy trashing Osgood to support your team? That might be why. This coach just helped lead the team to a cup, as well as Osgood. This isn't even the case of the team getting drastically affected because Osgood is in a slump. The Wings are, yet again, top cup contenders with both Osgood and Conklin, both of whom just about equally share the Wings 88 points. If Babs goes with Conklin, he does. I can't disagree with that. If he doesn't, he doesn't. I wouldn't agree but I'll still support the team's decision. Maybe there's something about being a fan that you haven't caught onto yet. This isn't, per se, directed at you. It's a statement in general. Some people have been way too obsessed with bashing Osgood to even support their own team.

That game was sweet. I was at a buddy's house watching it and it got me pumped up for the playoffs!

Those two goals by zetterberg were in my opinion highlight of the week material.

It was highly common for some stupid fans in Montreal (Quebec) to boo players from their own team, particularly Brisebois -- why do I get the feeling you're like them and just like to find someone from the team to bash?

You're totally overlooking the fact that the organization sees that Osgood is struggling. It's obvious as day. But unlike you, they don't feel dumping a player off when he's down is the most logical course of action, especially the very following season after he helped the team win a cup. Is there something terribly wrong with this?

I still don't like him but I will admit when he is playing well and also I will say when he, or every other player, is not playing well. What is terribly wrong with that? See, there's a difference in admitting when a player is doing poorly (which everyone here does) and then saying that if you still cheer for them and want them to succeed anyway, you're not a fan. You're a "worshipper". Which is what you and others like you have done.

The team is still winning with Osgood in net but they are having to score a minimum of 4 goals every game he is in net to cover for him. That is not going to work come play off time, which is about a month off. Holland himself has said that he has faith in Osgood but his current play will not amount to anything good come play offs. Stating the truth is not bashing. The truth hurts sometimes I know but it is what it is. You make it sound like I want him to jump off the bridge... I'll be happy of he just stays on the bench and charts face-offs if he can't earn his way into playing in games. I'm not advocating trading him, nor shooting him, or anything. Just that having blind faith in a guy that played well last year is stupid when this entire season he sucked and continually has gotten worse... to the point of being benched. Few at all here suggest having blind faith in the guy. That isn't even anywhere in the spectrum of any rational argument being made, so I have no idea who your argument there is against -- not me, that's for sure. However, the "truth" is coaches and management support the guy who just helped this team win the cup, and are trying all they can to get him into shape. Evidently Babcock said Osgood is the planned starter for the playoffs (or so the Sharks broadcast said during yesterday's game), and while, given how that statement hasn't made rounds yet in the Detroit papers, I'm sort of questioning the validity of it -- if it's the case I support the Wings and hope Osgood is in top form, even if his GAA and Save % is utter crap. My question is -- will you still be whining about him being benched then as well? I've only seen a few posters so belligerent about getting a player off the ice they will ignore everything this team's management and coaching staff says or does.

Ironically, I bet mostly the same people you're arguing against will also support the team if they go with Conklin in the playoffs. I don't see a problem there either.
