sureWhyNot 19 Report post Posted March 6, 2009 (edited) Unless your definition of a great power forward is Boyd Devereaux. Malts showed his value on the one pk in the third after he chased the puck into the Shark's zone. Some of the best individual effort on the PK that I have seen all year. Leino has made that line click. While it's not a traditional grind line, they are a scoring threat. Bye bye Kopecky. While Maltby made a nice play, as you describe above, he has at the least been miserable to watch this year. He is a year and a half beyond being "washed up" and really defines "worthless" in regards to guys taking line up spots. I love Maltby, and what he has done for the Red Wings over the last 10 + years, but I cannot turn a blind eye to the fact that he isn', and hasn't been for a while, the player that so many of us came to adore in years past. Also, I would be really careful citing anyone's PK play when attempting to vilify their spot on the team. I don't know if you are aware of the fact the Red Wings rank 27th in the league in PK, and 30th in the league in PK% -- something that when given our goaltending this year (yes, I know it's been better recently) becomes frightening.
