The Mule 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 I hate threads like this. Never pick your poison. The only thing the Wings should worry about is themselves. If they're playing to their potential, it doesn't matter who they face. Who ever said anything about the Wings picking their poison?
Casey 145 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Two things. 1. I'd wager a significant sum that there isn't a Western Conference team that could beat Detroit 4 of 7. 2. Where are the Blackhawks?
b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Wild have the ability to do what Edmonton did in 06', get the lead and then trap their asses off, making for an tremendously frustrating series. That said, the Wild playing from behind are not nearly as scary, but do have some guys who can score and a goaltender capable of shutting the door should their defensive trap have to open up to come from behind. Canucks have Luongo but the rest of their team doesn't scare me. The Ducks are cheapshot artists which is not a great recipe for the first round, and JSG could become hot at the right time. Either way, first round is tough, but we SHOULD be able to handle it.
CMatt89 63 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 I just want them to avoid going west coast...they seem to tire out easier when on the west coast...Keepit close to home for the early rounds..

Guest NumbaSixty-Six Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Detroit is getting knocked out by Calgary this year. I can feel it.
BuckeyeWingsfan80 209 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 I voted for Columbus mainly because Detroit can play well and still lose somehow to Columbus, especially IN Columbus. And a freak rookie goalie like Mason really reminds me of Gigure and/or Kipper.... Columbus plays the closest to the blueprint to beat Detroit (they've used it to perfect against San Jose too) and Hitchcock isn't what I'd call a rookie playoff HC.... If you take a look at the standings, you'll see that isn't likely we'll face Chicago in the first round.
