Doggy 130 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 That's so stupid. Pierre Lebrun got it right at the 2nd intermission, if their so concerned with players and coaches speaking french, they have their priorities in the wrong order. So they still insist on having a Francophone as a coach? I woulda thought they'd be more concerned with just getting the best guy available. They'll probably end up with someone like Therrien. Pavrik Zettersyuk 4 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 Dude, did you watch the Wings/Flyers game? It was a GREAT comeback with lots of emotion. Oh God, don't rub it in, I fell asleep in first intermission... Embarassing.
I think he's just doin' his thing with the Giants and the Team Canada U20's. IMO, Quinn is not what the Habs should be looking for though. I would've guessed Don Lever under normal circumstances. He's got a wealth of coaching experience and won the Calder Cup with the Bulldogs a few years ago (against Boudreau's Bears). These sort of coaches from the AHL seem to be panning out these days. But he doesn't speak French so I guess that takes him out. What about Hartley? He speaks French, doesn't he? softshoes 83 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 And according to the telecast, Gainey makes the players speak to him ONLY in French! Damn seperatists
cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 How many different jersey's do the habs have... 5? just special for the 100th anniversey though isn't it? This at least the second game they've lost when wearing their centennial jerseys; and both of them have been high profile.

Yeah.....Hartley is pretty well the only guy out there that fits both criterion of having NHL experience and French-speaking.

From Carbonneau's press conference on March 18th: "But it comes back to how good you are behind the bench … if you can only speak Chinese and win games, the people won't mind it."
