GROwl 5 Report post Posted March 27, 2009 We got an email note regarding a youth hockey camp for Defensemen. The group putting it on is Simply Defense (www.simplydefense.com). The note said that they have run camps for 5 years in the Detroit and Port Huron areas and are just now expanding over to the west side of the state. Anyone have any experience - good or bad - with this camp? I'm thinking about sending my kid to one of the 2-day Easter camps.
Winged_Wheeler 3 Report post Posted March 27, 2009 As long as you're not coached by Brad McCrimmon, then you're fine.

I don't have any personal experience with that camp, but I haven't heard anything negative about it and I have heard Jeff Blum is a good coach. His staff has a lot of coaching, teaching, and personal instruction experience. Bogas is a HS assistant coach, Clark runs the CORE training facility that Draper is inolved in, Tomlinson has camp and private lesson experience, John Blum has been around for a long time, not sure on the others. It's only 2 days and 2 hours per day... can't hurt to give it a try.
