Guest MrSandMan Report post Posted April 5, 2009 (edited) true but ducks have not been steller on home ice.. i will miss this game cuz of evil work << Ducks now have momentum in this two game series... plus they are playing in their playoffs right now, do or die. Tonight puts them on a 4 game winning streak? I'm sure they are feeling pretty good about their chances. Edited April 5, 2009 by MrSandMan
Mike 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 Edmonton just beat Vancouver 5-3. Edmonton is 3 points out of the playoffs with 3 games left.
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 That Bobby Ryan character is pretty damn impressive for being a rookie. Thirty goals, and that even though they had him sit out 20 games in the minors.
hmmthesharks 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 Wings lost their last 3 and Babcock is pissed. He stated on the record that Wings are winning their next game while you could see him fuming with anger. I think our boys have more incentive to turn it up for the remainder of the season than the Sharks do. Besides, it's about time for Sharks to go on another losing streak. Just because Babcock's pissed means the teams going to pull it together in the final stretch? A coach can say he's "dissapointed" and yet the team will still play crappy. A coach's word isn't always going to be the answer. And you don't time losing streaks. I still am sticking with my statement.

I still am sticking with my statement. I know it's been awhile since your team had a decent coach. But trust me, a good coach doesn't make such bold statements unless they have intentions of busting balls and rolling heads. And at this point, Wings need their balls busted. They've completely lost their drive and Coach Babcock sounds like he's going to give the Red Wings a nice little gift all wrapped up with a cute little bow-tie. It's a gift of "whoop-ass, get your sh!t together NOW!" present. Just as the doctor ordered. With that said, Detroit is too good of a team (well, the defending champs so I still consider them the best team in NHL until another team takes our cup) to go on an extended losing streak. Like you, I stand by my statement. We're simply the best team in NHL but suffering from the Stanley Cup hangover. It's the coaches job to ignite the team. So, I think it is safe to say that the Wings have played bad hockey the last month. You're going to sit there and tell me that your "good" coach Babcock hasn't busted their balls by now? The coach can say all he wants, can whoop their asses as much as he wants to, but it's up to the players to step up and LISTEN to the coach. Talk is talk, actions speak louder then words. And the Wings are obviously not listening to their coach and haven't for the past month, and I find it VERY hard to believe that Babcock has waited this long to give them an "ass whooping"

And the Wings are obviously not listening to their coach and haven't for the past month, and I find it VERY hard to believe that Babcock has waited this long to give them an "ass whooping" No, I think Babcock, for the most part, is passive. After all, this is a veteran team that's won it all numerous times. They all know what's at stake. Detroit rarely knows how to lose, granted we did master that craft the past few weeks. Wings, as a whole (including coaching-from what noticed), have been lagging. Factor 1- Detroit is a veteran team with a core roster that won the cup numerous times. Factor 2- Wings don't go on 4-game losing streaks that often. I'm not a state junkie, but I am sure it can be counted on one hand the past 5-6 years; combined. Factor 3- Babcock has called this team out in public and said Wings will win the next game (wish I can find the source) - I think it was after the game interview. Totally out of character for Babcock since he's been a coach here in Hockeytown - so you know he's turning up the fire. Factor4- Though it's not urgent for the Wings to win the next 5 season games (I think Wings can take Sharks in 6 anyhow), I think they see the importance to get into form for the POs. Sharks: -They looked sluggish to me tonight. -They have to play the Ducks tomorrow in their house. -They have to play the Yotes, and who knows... maybe Kings could steal one. I doubt Avs will show up. -Sharks don't have veteran leadership. If anything, they have choker leadership. I'm not betting the Sharks even make it to the WCF. Guest MrSandMan Report post Posted April 5, 2009 Well, we have our difference of opinions MrSandMan. We'll just have the teams answer our questions for us. Lol. You are posting at the enemy's stomping ground, did you think we should have the same opinions about the teams? That'd be like me signing up to a feminist message board and posting that dad's make better parents than mothers. Not sure all the feminists would completely agree with my "opinion". My entire point was Detroit still has a shot at reclaiming 1st place in our conference again. I still believe it is possible -- if we play well tomorrow, obviously that will be the biggest test. BuckeyeWingsfan80 209 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 I'd rather have Nashville or CBJ. Not only are the Ducks physical, but I'm not going to be quick to count out the wealth of experience on their team. Nashville and the CBJ are just as physical and have that rookie goalie freak factor thing that always bites Detroit in the ass.
